  1. Tap + at the bottom of the Snippet Groups list.
  2. Tap Create New Group.
  3. Enter a new name for your Group and tap OK.

A new Snippet Group will appear in the Snippet Groups list. Tap on it to add new snippets.

Deleting a Snippet Group

  1. Open the Snippet Groups screen and tap Edit.
  2. Tap the red minus (-) next to a Snippet Group.
  3. Tap Delete then Done.

Alternately, swipe left over the Snippet Group then tap Delete and Done.

Adding Public Groups

TextExpander for iPhone and iPad comes with several useful Snippet Groups which can be added. Access them from the Snippet Groups screen.

  1. Tap + at the bottom of the Snippet Groups list.
  2. Tap Add Public Groups.
  3. Tap the name of a Snippet Group and that Group will appear in the Snippet Groups list.

Public Groups include:

  • AutoCorrect
  • Emoji
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Accented Words
  • Symbols
  • Sample Snippets (this sample Snippet Group comes pre-installed).

Editing Snippet Groups

Edit a Snippet Group by tapping Info inline with the Snippet Group name. This will open a sheet with several options.

  • Rename your Snippet Group.
  • Ignore on iOS. Switch on to prevent this Snippet Group from expanding. This is useful for Snippet Groups which work well on Mac, but not for iPhone and iPad.
  • Duplicate a Snippet Group. “XXX Group copy” will appear at the bottom of the Snippet Groups list. A Public Group will instead say Make Editable Copy. The Public Groups are not editable. To edit one, make a copy to edit, then delete the original to prevent snippet conflicts.
  • Share the Snippet Group with another TextExpander user by signing in to your TextExpander.com account.
