TextExpander Supported Languages

TextExpander can expand nearly any language, but only the following languages can trigger expansions and are fully localized in our application:

• English
• French
• German
• Italian
• Japanese
• Russian
• Spanish 
• Portuguese

How to change TextExpander’s Language

Mac:

TextExpander defaults to your Preferred language in System Preferences> Language & Region. 

If you would like to change the language that TextExpander uses without changing the default language for your Mac, you can do so by doing the following:

1. Go to System Preferences > Language > Region
2. Select the Apps tab as pictured here:

3. Select the plus (+) sign in the bottom left-hand corner to be able to select TextExpander:

4. In the pop-up window that opens, select TextExpander and then the language you would like to use:

5. TextExpander should now display in your preferred language.

Chrome:

TexExpander defaults to your Top Preferred Language.

1. Goto chrome://settings/languages
2. Add your preferred language.

3. Move that preferred language to the top of your list.

4. TextExpander should now display in your preferred language.

Windows:

TextExpander requires your Windows display language to be set to your preferred language.

1. Navigate to Time & Language > Language & Region Settings.
2. Change your Windows Display Language to one of the supported languages.
3. Sign out and back into your Windows device to commit the changes.
4. TextExpander should now display in your preferred language.
