TextExpander’s Free plan lets you use Snippets on any device, no credit card required.

What you get on the Free plan

• 5 active Snippets. These are the Snippets you can expand right now. Save as many Snippets as you want, and keep 5 active at a time. See How active Snippets work for the full picture.
• Snippets on every device. Use TextExpander on Mac, Windows, Chrome, iOS, and Android, and your Snippets stay current across all of them.
• Basic Fill-ins, simple dates, and simple time. Add fillable fields, the current date, and simple time to your Snippets.
• Autocorrect Snippets that stay out of your way. Autocorrect Snippets fix typos automatically, and they don’t count toward your 5 active Snippets.
• Up to 5 team members, for Organizations. Free includes up to 5 team members, and each member gets their own 5 active Snippets. When a team grows beyond that, an admin can review plan options.
• Unlimited Snippet Groups and up to 3 Teams. Organize your Snippets into as many Groups as you need, and create up to 3 Teams.

What’s on paid plans

For more active Snippets, unlimited team members, or advanced features, you can upgrade any time. Paid plans add:

• Unlimited active Snippets
• Unlimited team members on the Business plan and above
• Date math, time math, nested Snippets, JavaScript Snippets, AppleScript, shell scripts, and conditional Fill-ins
• External Snippet sharing and private Snippets
• Advanced permissions, Snippet history, analytics, and reporting
• SSO, SCIM, audit logs, and advanced admin controls on Enterprise

For admins

If you’re an admin of a TextExpander team account, the Free plan applies to your whole team, and each member gets their own 5 active Snippets.

Only admins can change the plan. When your team is on Free, members see an upgrade prompt that asks them to talk to you rather than a “Choose plan” button.

Coming from a trial?

If your team’s trial recently ended, you’ll move to Free automatically. Snippets you created while your team was on a paid plan or trial stay in your library when you move to Free. Snippets that use Free features can become active and expand as usual. Snippets that use paid-only features, such as date math, time math, nested Snippets, JavaScript, AppleScript, shell scripts, or conditional Fill-ins, expand once you remove the paid-only feature or upgrade.
